This is my husband, Ben:
He's pretty great. Yesterday was his birthday and I got him a slightly unconventional birthday present.
Ben is a beer connoisseur. (He's also been called a beer snob.) I love my beer snob. He's also a lover of beer glasses and other fine drinking glasses. Last weekend while he was at the other part of his birthday present, a Craft Beer festival in downtown Lakeland: the Brewz Cruz, I was unpacking all of the glasses. When I was done, I decided to count them all. 114. We have 114 glass drinking glasses.
The hutch in the kitchen (Jen: note the postcard from Ireland! It felt like the appropriate place to put it.)
The bar area in the living room
I texted him while he was at the beer festival to let him know what I figured out and his response was, "You knew what you were getting into when you said, 'I do.'" I did know and I'm so thankful for him.

Quiet Thursday
Today's lunch was a good one. Holly and I decided to sit on the porch after I took her for her walk. Holly loves to sit on the porch swing. I know, right? A moving swing. And she loves it. She sits on it just like she sits in the back seat of the car when she's riding.
She is such a good girl. I was very skeptical about adopting Holly at first. I didn't think that we were ready to have a dog. Ben had other ideas, though. And it was his heart that she melted first before I even made it to the SPCA. Ben wanted to make sure that I was taken care of while he was in school twice a week. I hate to say it, but he was right. Holly is definitely part of the family.
